Week 13
Time has engulfed me. Finally I let go.
The same friend who helped me make the video submission has joined in on the ride. Together we explored Somerville, the Waterfront and Fort Point. We picked through piles of vintage threads, walking away with distinguished pieces to suit our personal styles.
She showed me an abandoned retail space that would be perfect for my art concept business. However, the concept is not just mine now. I discovered her vision was ghostly identical to mine. Both were planted several years ago in our separate minds, and now hatched into one. “We’re Home,” she whispered. I closed my eyes and pinched myself.
As we drooled over the beautiful raw stone and exposed fixtures of the space, I snapped a couple photographs. Quietly pasted on the side of an old newspaper dispenser was this - R.I.P. Art. One small token to mark the spot. It is up to us to resurrect art for all to partake. There is much work to be done still, while we wait for the ‘mysterious wizard man’ to emerge again (another story for another day). One of my favorite sayings still holds true- Success is when preparation meets opportunity.
Back to finishing financial statements and the first draft of the plan…
